Tips to enjoy life in Barcelona during the summer
All the tips you should know to make the most of summer in Barcelona if you stay here for vacation
With the arrival of summer, what we want most is to completely disconnect from our daily routine. Of that, at The Lofttown we are more than sure after having finished a complicated academic year due to Covid-19. However, have you ever wondered… What happens if you decide not to leave the city this summer?
And, on the contrary, you prefer to stay in Barcelona and its surroundings to enjoy a different summer, living the intense experiences that the city offers you in the first person. Well today, we tell you that you are in the right place because we bring you a very interesting post to tell you what you can do in our fantastic city while you rest on your summer holidays.
Visit the icons of Barcelona
From The Lofttown we encourage you to stay in Barcelona and at our residence! And it is that in the Catalan capital you will never get bored thanks to all the attractions that you can always see here. Any ideas? For example, we encourage you to explore all its splendid cultural heritage, take advantage of it to go shopping in its wonderful downtown stores, to try all the culinary art of local cuisine or to relax as you deserve on its beautiful beaches.
Our recommendation is that you rediscover all the places where you have ever been as a tourist. Now that you have been in Barcelona for a long time, we recommend that you revisit those fascinating places that caught your attention, such as the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia, the magic of Casa Battló, the modernist character of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, the splendid Palau de la Música Catalana, the bustle of the Boquería Market or the harmonious Parc Güell. Remember that the city, its people and especially its neighborhoods are unique, which always await you with so many surprises that you would never have imagined before.
A swim on the shores of the Mediterranean
Barcelona is the classic destination for the best European getaways. You don’t need this because you already live here and you have everything tourists want. So, a synonym for summer is undoubtedly a good swim on the beaches of the Catalan coast. And to enjoy a good day at the beach, it is not necessary to go to the Costa Brava, because Barcelona has a wide coastline with splendid beaches, many picturesque and others more reserved, which will make you live a unique summer while still in the heart of the town.

Barcelona breathes culture
During the summer, Barcelona is full of popular parties, music festivals, cinemas on the beach and many cultural events that will really fascinate you.
If you want to know all the cultural activity of the city during this summer, we invite you to know it by visiting the official agenda of the Barcelona city council, clicking on this link.
Escape to Girona
Girona is a small city located north of Barcelona and has a rich historical and cultural heritage that you cannot miss. Just one hour from Barcelona, here you can walk through the beautiful Jewish quarter, full of alleys, stairs and beautiful patios, where you will experience life during Jewish time in the city that will not leave you indifferent.
Also, do not miss the unique opportunity to climb the stairs of the impressive Girona Cathedral, we refer to the Church of Santa María, which is a wonderful example of Catalan Gothic architecture. However, the most iconic postcard of the city is, without a doubt, the houses located along the Onyar river, which have the most colorful facades in all of Spain and create beautiful reflections with a fascinating mirror effect in the river.
A walk through Tarragona
If what you are looking for is to travel to the past of Catalonia then you have to visit another Catalan pearl and we refer to Tarragona. And it is that during the Roman empire, Tarragona, called Tarraco at that time was an important mercantile city and that is why here you will find Roman remains that remind of this time. It should be noted that the iconic place in Tarragona is the Roman amphitheater that has a capacity for 14,000 people in front of the immensity of the Mediterranean Sea.
